The quilted maple back and sides, the Cocobolo wood binding, fingerboard, tailpiece, bridge, pick guard, front & back headstock, Florentine cutaway, Sitka spruce top, and dark, amber-blonde lacquer finish, all combine to make the most elegant archtop I've ever seen, played, or heard. Acoustically, it's loud as a cannon. It just keeps pumping and responding the harder you play. The tone is so complex, it constantly surprises me. Thundering bass, rich, punchy mids, and shimmery highs. And all beautifully balanced. And having the neck custom made to my specs, makes it so easy to play, my hand never gets tired or sore. I love the full, round neck profile, it's perfect for me. I can honestly say that they are some of the finest archtops on the planet. They aren't just pretty furniture, they play and SOUND incredible. They are also the best value in a carved top, all handmade archtop anywhere. I highly suggest to anyone looking for real quality at an affordable price, to check out a Devoe archtop... especially the Standard models. I couldn't be happier with both my Devoe's, and I am proud that he asked me to endorse them.
